Since 1 June 2019, travel agencies have been required to actively ask passengers whether they wish to provide their contact details – mobile phone number and/or email address – to the airline. The aim is to be able to provide information quickly, transparently and actively around the clock in the event of a flight irregularity. The data is used by the airlines of the Lufthansa Group exclusively for flight-related information and not for marketing or advertising purposes.
