In addition to the nine Boeing 777-300ERs already ordered, SWISS will be introducing another aircraft of this type to the fleet in 2018.
New cabin design and in-flight entertainment system on the A340-300
In 2018 SWISS will refurbish its five remaining Airbus A340-300 with a new cabin design in all three travel classes. Altogether the A340 will have 223 seats after the refurbishment, 8 in First, 47 in Business and 168 in Economy Class. First Class will be based on the existing design in the Boeing 777. The seats in Business Class will be like those in the Boeing 777. Economy Class will have new seats. The in-flight entertainment will also be modernised and replaced by the one used in the Boeing 777.
Internet on board the entire SWISS long-haul fleet
After the introduction of wireless Internet on board the Boeing 777, SWISS will extend the ‘SWISS Connect’ service to the Airbus A330-300 and A340-300 fleets. Between October 2016 and the spring of 2017 all 14 aircraft of the Airbus A330-300 type will be equipped with the appropriate Panasonic-eXConnect technology for Internet and eXPhone for telephony. The five Airbus A340 aircraft will be equipped during the cabin refurbishment in 2018.
