A mobile ECG system improves medical care in the event of emergencies on all Lufthansa long-haul flights and provides cockpit crews with a better basis for making decisions during medical incidents. The data determined by the CardioSecur ECG system is transmitted via an app to the medical hotline of ‘International SOS’ (ISOS). Lufthansa’s contract partner can be contacted around the clock by pilots and pursers with medical questions. In an emergency, ISOS can advise the cockpit crew on whether a stopover is necessary.
In the event of a medical emergency, the cabin crew can also use the existing ‘Doctor on Board’ programme to identify the doctors on board quickly, including their area of specialisation.
Another innovation is the medical escort service on Lufthansa flights. A nurse, paramedic or doctor can accompany you throughout the entire flight. The medical escort programme is available from 450 euros.
With its broad medical product portfolio, Lufthansa is one of the world’s leading airlines in this area.
