‘Neo’ means new, and on short- and medium-haul flights you can now look forward to a new kind of comfort as Lufthansa has received its first Airbus A321neo, a refinement of the A321.
The one big difference is the redesigned cabin, where the new seats that the airline is introducing together with Austrian Airlines and SWISS are worth a special mention. The seats and backrests are fully upholstered, which ensures ergonomic pressure distribution and a pleasant sitting experience. Additional comfort is provided during take-off and landing: instead of the previous 12 degrees, the backrests can now be tilted up to 20 degrees. Business Class guests can even adjust the backrest to 26 degrees during the flight. Another innovation is the USB ports, which can be found in every row.
The environment has also been taken into consideration. The newly developed engine technologies and the aerodynamic wing tips result in a fuel reduction of up to 20 per cent per seat kilometre. And compared to other aircraft of this type, the Airbus A321neo has a noise contour that is around 50 percent lower on take-off.
