In 2018, Austrian Airlines will be including a new long-haul destination in their portfolio: from 27 October 2018 the airline will fly twice a week from Vienna to Cape Town. The flights will be operated by a Boeing 777. This is made possible by the additional “Triple Seven” that Austrian Airlines will add to their long-haul fleet in 2018. The Boeing 777 has a capacity of around 300 seats. Currently Austrian Airlines has six Boeing 767 and five Boeing 777 in their long-haul fleet. With the additional Boeing 777 Austrian Airlines will be expanding the fleet to comprise 12 aircraft.
Apart from Economy and Business Class, you will be able to fly to this new destination in Premium Economy Class too, as from next autumn all Austrian Airlines long-haul aircraft will gradually be equipped with Premium Economy Class. In “Premium Eco” passengers will enjoy unique seats with more recline, increased seat pitch and broader seat surface. Compared to Economy Class there are larger screens for on-demand entertainment and an upgraded catering service.
