With its forthcoming 2018/19 winter timetable, Austrian Airlines will be significantly expanding its European route network and increasing frequencies to North America in order to strengthen its Vienna hub.
More flights to Germany, Denmark and Greece:
From the end of October 2018, Austrian Airlines will be flying up to 48 times to Berlin-Tegel and up to 36 times to Dusseldorf. Hamburg is provided with up to 29 weekly connections. In all, during the coming winter, the Austrian carrier will increase its service of flights to Germany by up to 17 per week, offering a total of up to 238 weekly connections from Vienna to Germany.
From the end of October, Austrian Airlines will also be flying up to 30 times a week to Copenhagen– this is four flights more than in the previous winter timetable.
From the end of October 2018, the number of flights to Athens will be increased to a total of ten weekly connections. Thessaloniki will be served daily.
Increased services to Eastern Europe
Due to high demand, Austrian Airlines is also increasing its services to Eastern Europe. Up to 16 flights will be operated to Kiev in the coming winter timetable. Austrian Airlines will be offering a total of up to 30 weekly flights to Ukraine from the end of October 2018: in addition to Kiev, the flight timetable also includes Dnipro, Lemberg and Odessa.
The destinations of Košice, Budapest, Belgrade and Sarajevo will be served up to 63 times a week.
In Poland, Austrian Airlines operates flights to Warsaw and Krakow, increasing the number of flights to Krakow to a total of up to 13 weekly flights. Warsaw will be served up to 18 times a week.
Three destinations in Romania appear in the Austrian Airlines 2018/19 winter flight timetable: Bucharest, Iași and Sibiu will be served up to 41 times a week.
With two destinations and a total of up to 36 weekly flights, Bulgaria remains a permanent feature on the Austrian Airlines flight timetable. From the end of October 2018, the capital Sofia will be served up to 29 times a week. Austrian Airlines offers a daily service to the coastal city of Varna.
Flights to North America and Tel Aviv will be increased
Austrian Airlines is also increasing the number of long-haul flights to North America with up to 30 weekly flights. For example, from the end of October 2018 on, up to 13 flights per week will be operated to New York and daily to Chicago. Toronto is served five times a week. From the end of October on Tuesdays and Saturdays, business travellers to Cape Town can reach this destination from Vienna.
In addition, the frequencies to Tel Aviv will be increased.
Passengers wishing to travel between North America and Israel via the Vienna hub will be able to choose from more than twice as many Austrian Airlines flights to Tel Aviv at the end of October 2018 as in the previous winter timetable, with up to 21 weekly connections.
