How can business travellers use their travel time even more efficiently? Where can they find Wi-Fi access and check their emails? AirlineCheckins users no longer have to ask themselves these questions. The online service developed by the Lufthansa Innovation Hub now offers its customers a significantly improved travel experience with new services and comprehensive offers that are particularly suitable for frequent flyers throughout the entire travel chain. With unlimited Wi-Fi on board, in airports and train stations, customers can use their travel time even more efficiently and benefit from status-independent access to airport lounges.
Based on feedback from over 2,500 registered users, AirlineCheckins is now available in three different versions:
- AirlineCheckins FREE includes the familiar check-in service and remains free of charge. Up to two check-ins per month will be carried out automatically for registered users.
- AirlineCheckins BASIC contains an unlimited number of automatic check-ins as well as current flight information (e.g. gate changes, delays) in real time. The package costs 4.99 euros for three months and ends without notice at the end of the term.
- AirlineCheckins PLUS includes an unlimited number of check-ins and real-time flight information as well as two essential services: unlimited Wi-Fi access on board36 airlines and at 42 million Wi-Fi hot spots worldwide – in cities, at railway stations, airports and on trains. Users are not limited either in terms of amount of data or speed. This makes it possible, for example, to stream films during a flight. In addition, users receive up to 20% discount on admission to over 370 lounges at the world’s busiest airports. The lounges can be used regardless of membership or status in the associated frequency traveller programmes. The AirlineCheckins PLUS option costs 29.99 euros for a total of three months and ends automatically afterwards. It offers significant advantages especially for frequent travellers: in-flight Wi-Fi access costs between 5 and 12 euros per flight, depending on the airline and data package. The availability of the package is limited to 2,222 users in the initial phase. The decision about possible changes and the continuation of the packages beyond the test phase will depend on user feedback.
Currently, AirlineCheckins automatically checks in more than 40,000 customers from 132 countries flying with over 220 airlines worldwide, taking into account individual seat preferences, accompanying persons and individual frequent flyer programmes. The service works for every airline that offers online check-in. Once you have registered for AirlineCheckins free of charge, you will never have to check in yourself again.
