‘Flugzug’ between Lugano rail station and Zurich Airport

SWISS International Airlines (SWISS) and Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) are now offering customers a ‘Flugzug’ between Lugano rail station and Zurich Airport. Selected SBB rail connections between Lugano and Zurich Airport will now be assigned a SWISS flight number. Travel on these trains is included in the SWISS flight ticket.

The ‘Flugzug’ timetable offers 14 connections in each direction and every day between Lugano and Zurich Airport, making it even more flexible than the previous four daily flight connections. This means that passengers can reach all relevant connecting flights at the Zurich hub. The ‘Flugzug’ can now be booked on the SWISS website and at any travel agency.

Connecting Ticino to the SWISS hub at Zurich Airport is very important to SWISS. This is a pragmatic first step. SWISS and SBB are continuing to work intensively on optimizing the range of ‘Flugzug’ services, which until now have only been available between Basel and Zurich Airport as an SBB feeder service.
