Economy Light fare: adjustment of baggage charges

On their most affordable European fare, Economy Light, Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS will be increasing the charges for booking a piece of checked baggage on cross-border flights from 13 June 2017 (date of ticket issue). When booking via direct booking channels such as Direct Connect, austrian.com, brusselsairlines.com, LH.com and swiss.com, the baggage charges will be increased by 10 euros, when booking via other booking channels by 15 euros.

The Lufthansa Group Airlines are thus taking their offer differentiation forward and will in future be offering additional services more affordably via direct booking channels.

In the case of tickets issued before 13 June 2017, you can still book a piece of checked baggage at the previous prices.

Here are the charges for a piece of checked baggage up to 23 kg in the Economy Light fare:*
